Zone: Protein, Vitamin & Mineral Ration Balancer for All Horses

Zone is a pelleted ration balancer designed to provide high-quality protein, vitamins, and minerals to support muscle development, metabolic balance, and overall nutritional adequacy.

This feed is especially useful for:

  • Foals, weanlings, and yearlings during growth stages
  • Pregnant and lactating mares with increased nutrient demands
  • Breeding stallions and horses in regular work
  • Easy keepers on pasture or hay-based diets that need nutrient support without extra calories

Common Problems Zone Helps Solve

Zone is commonly used to address gaps in diets that may otherwise lack:

  • Sufficient amino acids for growth and muscle repair

  • Balanced vitamins and trace minerals

  • Proper mineral support for bone development

  • Nutrient density during breeding, lactation, or growth phases
  • Overall diet balance without increasing starch or calories

Zone helps ensure horses receive the nutrients they need when forage alone is not enough.

Why Zone Works

Zone delivers concentrated nutrition without excess energy by focusing on nutrient density rather than calories.

Key formulation features include:

  • High protein content to support growth, muscle maintenance, and reproduction

  • Balanced amino acids, including lysine and methionine

  • Dense vitamin and mineral fortification, including major and trace minerals

  • Marine-based calcium (CalSea) to support bone health and help buffer stomach acid

  • Pelleted form for consistent intake and ease of feeding

This makes Zone an efficient solution for improving overall ration quality without overfeeding grain.

How Zone Compares to Our Other Feeds

Feed Best For Primary Role
Zone Growth & nutrient balance Ration balancer — protein, vitamins, minerals
Signature Prime Mature & senior horses Condition support with fiber-based energy
Cool Stride Gut & metabolic sensitivity Lower starch for sensitive horses

Zone is unique in the lineup as a nutrient balancer, not a primary calorie source.

Feeding Directions

Feed Zone alongside good-quality hay (1.5–2% of body weight), free-choice salt, and fresh, clean water.

Suggested feeding rates (based on a 1,000 lb horse):

  • Maintenance — 1 lb per day

  • Light exercise — 1.5 lb per day

  • Early pregnancy — 1 lb per day

  • Late pregnancy — 1.5 lb per day

  • Lactation (foaling to 4 months) — 2–2.5 lb per day

  • Lactation (1 month to weaning) — 1.5–2 lb per day

For foals, weanlings, and yearlings, feeding rates should be adjusted based on age, size, and growth rate.

Feeding notes:

  • Introduce feed gradually over 10–14 days

  • Do not feed more than 5 lbs per 1,000 lbs body weight per meal

  • Soak feed if horses have difficulty chewing or swallowing

  • Store in a cool, dry area away from insects

  • Do not feed moldy or insect-infested feed

Warning:
This product contains added copper and should not be fed to sheep.

Where Zone Fits Best

Zone is most effective when used to:

  • Balance forage-based diets
  • Support growth and development
  • Enhance breeding and lactation nutrition

Provide nutrient density without adding unnecessary calories

Still Deciding?

Zone is not a complete energy feed on its own. It is intended to be fed alongside forage or other feeds to balance the total ration.

Starting with guidance can prevent confusion and mismatches.
